Advisory Group members

Our advisory group contains sixteen members - balanced between individual and organisational representatives.

The representatives for Individual Health are

Mr Tom McCallum

Tom is interested in the health of people in Blackpool, and has sat on the Advisory Group previously representing the views of older people. Tom will serve on the Advisory Group until March 2013.

Mrs Norma Rodgers

Norma was employed by the NHS for over twenty years and has experience in the voluntary sector. Norma has a good understanding of healthcare needs locally. Norma is Chair of Blackpool LINk. Norma will serve on the Advisory Group until March 2012.

Mrs Wendy Stevenson

Wendy has been involved in Cardio Vascular Disease prevention. She is a registered volunteer with Blackpool Council`s Social Services team and is particularly interested in the Public Health area of NHS work. Wendy serves on the Advisory Group from April 2010 to March 2012.

Mrs Wendy Dowling

Having worked in the NHS for 40 years in various roles including being a midwife, sister in charge of outpatients, and specialist nurse in skin disease, Wendy's knowledge is wide and varied and she is a great assest to the group. Wendy serves on the Advisory Group until March 2013.

The representatives for Individual Social Care are

Heather O'Hara

Heather has previously been a School Governor for 20 years and she has alwaysbeen very keen on community involvement. She encourages other peopleto get involved and to put forward their ideas and feelings. Heatherwill serve on the Advisory Group until March 2013.

Anne Clarke

Recently retired, Anne worked in Blackpool as a Specialist Social Worker (HIV/AIDS) working closely with Health colleagues dealing with practical, emotional, physical and mental issues. She supported those affected by this condition including friends and family. Anne will serve on the Advisory Group until March 2013.

Mr Michael Hodkinson

Mike has been resident in Blackpool for fifty years, is a govenor of a local school and a committee member for Senior Voice Forum. Mike serves on the Advisory Group until March 2012.

Mr Robert Hooton

Bob is a carer for two of his close relatives. Bob is new to the voluntary sector and is already making a valuable contribution. Bob will serve on the Advisory Group until March 2012.

The representatives for Organisations interested in Social Care are

Linda Wright

Linda represents Making Space. Making Space is a Mental Health Chairty and third sector provider of services who work with people affected by Mental Health conditions, and with their carers, to help shape their lives based on their own personal aspirations and circumstances. Linda will serve on the Advisory Group until March 2013.

Carla Fleming

Carla represents Blackpool Carers Centre who play a key role in the local community by supporting those valuable people who provide informal care to relatives and friends. Carla will serve on the advisory group until March 2012

Mrs Pamela Hill

Pamela works for Age Concern Blackpool whose aim is to help older people make the most of life. The staff and volunteers are commited to promoting the wellbeing of thier clients and responding to their needs. Pam will serve on the Advisory Group until March 2012.

Mr Michael Crowther

Mike is Chief Officer of Blackpool Advocacy who promote, support and provide advocacy or representation services to people disdvantaged by disability, illness, age or social exclusion in order to increase their quality of life. Mike will serve on the Advisory Group until March 2013.

The representatives for organisations interested in health are

Tony Winter

Tony represents the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB). CAB is a registered charity providing advice and information on people's rights and responsibilities, of the services available and ensuring individuals do not suffer because of inability to express their needseffectively. Tony will serve on the Advisory Group until March 2012.

Dawn Lasledj

Dawn represents Progress - Employment Support. The purpose of Progress – Employment Support is to support disabled people into employment resulting in the right person in the rightjob. Dawn will serve on the Advisory Group until March 2013.

Mrs Gwynneth Mugonyi

Gwynneth represents the Motor Neurone Disease Association (Blackpool, Wyre & Fylde branch). MND is dedicated to supporting people with the disease and their partners, carers and families. Gwynneth was also a member of the LINk`s Interim Advisory Group. Gwynneth serves on the Advisory Group from April 2009 to March 2013.
