Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust launches new fortnightly electronic news bulletin

BLACKPOOL Teaching Hospitals is launching a new fortnightly news bulletin to keep patients and the public informed about the work taking place across the local health service.

The electronic newsletter, called Health Matters, will be produced every two weeks and available online or sent via e-mail to your inbox. It will include latest news stories and include features such as real patient stories. It will also include dates for your diary of forthcoming events such as members seminars or health promotion events and highlight how you can get involved as a volunteer or a fundraiser yourself.

Chief Executive, Aidan Kehoe, said: “We are always looking at ways to engage with our local community. There is some fantastic work going on in the Trust to improve healthcare for our local population and we want to share it with as many people as possible. I would encourage people to sign up to receive our newsletter and encourage friends and family to do so too."

The first edition features the visit of Prime Minister David Cameron to the Trust and his praise for hospital's nurses and positive stories including how staff saved a man’s finger from amputation, details of a project helping people to stop smoking and an update on the work taking place to transform services for children and families.

The magazine can be downloaded on the Trust’s internet site at
